Watchers

Extremely long time no talk. I am sorry for the complete lack of anything coming from here. I lead an extremely busy life and this time of year it's all I can do to keep everything I have in the real world working, let alone in the digital one. Still NO reason to not write anything in like 4 years, but that's life.

I believe this year has twice the possibility of Ron Paul winning the election this year. My family alone has 3 delegates to the caucus. We won our entire county, all the surrounding counties also won almost exclusively for Ron Paul.

The main purpose of this message is to see if someone would like to take over this dA club. Maybe even a few in order to keep the updates more often. I don't have time this time around to be on here constantly writing anything so I am hoping some of you are willing to spend the time and do it right!

Send me a PM if you are willing to take over or contribute!

Thanks!
Ron Paul 2012!

Still being a member of the Ron Paul Rloveution, I feel something needs to be said about the current political movements and their recent activities:

The original Tea Party movement, once about opposing the wasteful spending and big government through peaceful protests, is long gone. Thanks to the Neo-cons (and Faux News), our once peaceful movement is completely hijacked by fear-mongering fundamentalists. They've taken advantage of their supporter’s desperations, concerns, and fears. With that advantage, there are now members of some Tea Party gatherings inciting violence, not only towards Congressman who voted for the HC reform, but also towards their family members. (Note that the Neo-cons complained about Sarah Palin’s kids being made fun of, even though she purposefully threw her kids into the spotlight for her political gains. Yet the families of the Democrats have NEVER been involved or thrown in the spot light.)

There have been incidents of vandalism, threats of violence, and death threats that keep pouring into Congressman’s’ message machines. Some people who voted for Obama are being attacked through vandalism as well, if the one incident of a man with his 10-yr-old girl getting rammed by a guy isn’t the only case.

Now, this undoubtedly doesn’t apply to every participant of every Tea Party gathering out there now. But considering how fast this hateful rage has come upon a lot of the recent protests after just a week of the HC reform passing, I can only imagine it getting worse. Small and organized militias in some states aren’t making it any better, with one attempting to massacre a police officer’s funeral with home-made bombs, just because they see them as a “brotherhood” joined with the current government.

But if not all of the protestors are involved with inciting violence, why aren’t they speaking up about it? Why isn’t there someone in the crowd, telling the extremists to stop acting so hateful and inhuman towards others? Would those who do speak up be considered traitors on the spot?

I’m a moderate independent, who strongly believes in the Constitution. If I were at any of these gatherings and found such hateful acts and language perpetrated during, I would separate myself from them immediately and protest peacefully on my own. I would never and DO NOT tolerate these incitements of violence or ill-mannerisms. I don’t care if there are thousands more than me; I’d make sure to be vocal about my beliefs and condemn the extremists, for turning a once grateful protest into a giant circus show. I disagree with how Obama has run our country so far. But I would never want him or his supporters and their family members to be hurt or killed.

That’s why I’m condemning the current Tea Party movement, and continuing on with Ron Paul’s Rloveution from 2007-2008. Remember what the original revolution is about; it wasn’t just a libertarian/Republican/Conservative movement. It’s a movement involving a diverse membership, a movement involving people of ALL political/ethnic/personal backgrounds. It was more or less like Woodstock; despite everyone’s differences, we all came together to protest against the wasteful spending, certain corrupt policies and politicians, big corporations, and against a government becoming bigger. Ron Paul STRICTLY stated that this is to be a peaceful revolution, much like Martin Luther King’s movement in the 50’s.

But even if he didn’t state it so, these violently angry-driven protests have proven that a peaceful revolution is needed. Not only are the “tea-baggers” making us moderates look bad, but Neo-cons are taking advantage of all the hype to get their own hands dirty in corruption. Republicans personally had their own additions inserted into the HC Reform bill, including the health insurance mandate, which THEY are trying to put blame on the Democrats. The Texas Board of Education is attempting to rewrite history for their school textbooks, stripping important historical facts and Thomas Jefferson himself from the learning curriculum, all so they can portray America’s history as more “patriotic.” Thankfully there’s an outcry of opposition in Texas so far, but this just gives more of a reason for all moderates and independents to become vocal.

If you’re still a supporter of the original revolution, take a stand and point out the Tea Partier’s mistakes in protest methods. I know there are a handful of libertarians outraged by the hijacking of our peaceful movement. We need to tell the Neo-cons encouraging the violence to BUTT OUT, and that we’re not falling for their old tricks (I’m looking at you, too, Fox News; you haven’t brainwashed every person opposed to Obama right now). If Tea Partiers label you as a traitor, they’ve completely gone back to the George Bush tactic: “You’re either with us, or against us.” You’re not a traitor for making sure everyone, on both sides, is safe and unharmed.

Another task we need to do is educate ourselves on the current politics; there’s too much misinformation about the current legislation going on, no thanks to both the Neo-cons’ fear-mongering, and no thanks to the Democrats’ shady backroom deals. The worst thing anyone can do is protest something they know nothing about. Make sure you’re getting your information from reliable sources, not something recycled from Fox News hosts or other biased sources.

Lastly, we need to remind ourselves that we’re all human beings and American citizens in a diverse society; we knew Obama wouldn’t be able to keep all of his promises, or get them done all in one serving term. He’s just a man like everyone else. It’s possible that he’s just trying to help us, with good intentions in mind. It’s just that he’s not going at it the right way, the Constitutional way. The fact that we’re human beings also applies to the Neo-cons and fundamentalists as well; fear is a natural outcome to certain changes, and they’re so chalk-full of fear that they’re trying to take it out on everyone else, just so the outcomes don’t impact them personally. Despite all they’ve done so far to hurt people, I honestly can’t hate them, but rather feel sorry for them.

As an American citizen, I do not endorse the actions of the Tea Party movement. I affiliate only to Campaign for Liberty and the Rloveution. I’d suggest the rest of you moderates and independents do the same. However, if some of you are the people encouraging such violence at these movements, or are too afraid to speak up…you won’t be any better than the extremists. Prove that you’re different, and use your logic and common sense as your guide. Speak up!
